Description |
Jacket: The jacket is made out of wool and is army green in color. It is front opening with 4 brass covered metal buttons. On of the buttons is missing and the buttons have an eagle with an American shield on its chest. It has four front pockets that are closed with more engraved brass buttons, the right side button pockets button is rusting. On the sleeves of the jacket are two chevrons signifying rank as Corporal. On the jackets right sleeve at the shoulder is a blue patch with golden wings above a white star with a red circle inside it, it signifies the wearer as part of the U.S. Army Air Forces 2nd type. On the left sleeve at the cuff is a blue triangle patch with an orange cog signifying the wearer was a Engineering Specialist. On the left side chest of the jacket is a green diamond patch with a golden circle around an eagle which signifying an honorable discharge. On the shoulders of the jacket are another brass button. Inside the jacket on the collar are numbers and letters in black ink, some are illegible, the one legible are "2357" "A2357" "B-126". There are stains at the bottom of the front of the jacket as well as the previously mentioned problems with buttons. The jacket measures 34 1/4" in length and 19" wide at the shoulders. |
