Title |
Portrait of Mrs. Gordon Ball (Annette Winter) Ball |
Description |
Full-length hand-colored portrait of Mrs. Gordon Ball. She is wearing a long lavender colored full dress and a dark jacket with a white collar that looks almost like a Revolutionary War era costume. There is a large amount of lace in the wrist area. She wears a pillbox hat which is white...possibly a rabbit pelt hat. Her hair appears below the hat. She is standing on a sidewalk in front of an ivy-covered wall, probably a public building of some type. A recto caption reads "1844 MRS GORDON BALL 1929 / Charter Member General de Lafayette Chapter D.A.R." Written in pencil on verso is "Lived at 126 N. 6th, Lafayette in 1909 --1921 / Mrs. Cyrus Gordon Ball (Annette W.). Measures 6" x 7 3/4"; card measures 7 7/8" x 10 |
