Scope & Content |
The collection of these materials originally came from the County Courthouse in November 1998. The ledgers and letter books were among wills and estates files from 1980 - 1995 and were with assorted tax books that came with the files. Tinney and Moore (Later just Tinney) was located at 24 S. 4th St. in Lafayette. The collection consists of 7 invoice ledger volumes and 9 letter letter ledgers. The invoice ledger volumes are in extremely poor condition. Invoices are arranged by company name. Dates range from 1866 through 1884. They are glued to the pages, one atop the other. The ledgers have been separately wrapped and marked. The letter ledgers contain copies of correspondence from the years 1868 - 1885. Each volume consists of approximately 1000 pages and the pages are tissue thin. They are in fairly good condition. Most of the material is still readable and clean. These letter ledgers are all in one Hollinger. Included also is a separate folder containing an alphabetical listing of companies. |
